Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

A natural regenerative treatment that harnesses your body’s own growth factors to improve skin texture, tone, and stimulate hair growth

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy offers a powerful, natural approach for clients seeking to improve skin tone, texture, and hair density. By harnessing your body’s own growth factors, PRP stimulates collagen production, restores volume, and revitalizes tired or thinning areas. This treatment is especially popular for under-eye rejuvenation, full-face glow when combined with microneedling, and hair restoration in both men and women.

What is PRP Therapy?

PRP is derived from a small sample of your own blood, which is spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets. Platelets are rich in growth factors that promote healing, regeneration, and tissue remodeling.

When injected or applied topically during microneedling, PRP helps stimulate the body’s natural repair mechanisms for visibly firmer, smoother, and healthier skin and hair.

What PRP Can Treat

  • Under-Eye Circles and Hollowing: Improves pigmentation, hydration, and fine lines in delicate under-eye skin
  • Full-Face Rejuvenation: When combined with Dermapen® DP4 microneedling, PRP enhances collagen production, smooths texture, and restores radiance to the face, neck, or chest
  • Hair Restoration: Injected into the scalp to reactivate dormant follicles, increase hair thickness, and slow shedding in clients with early hair loss or thinning

What to Expect

Before Treatment

  • If you are seeking PRP for hair restoration, please note that a referral from your primary care provider is required before an appointment can be booked.
  • Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) and alcohol for 24–48 hours
  • Hydrate well and eat a light meal before your appointment
  • Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face or clean scalp, depending on the area being treated

During Treatment

  • A small amount of blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to isolate PRP
  • Topical numbing cream is available upon request, if appropriate for your treatment
  • PRP is either injected into targeted areas (e.g., under the eyes or scalp) or applied during microneedling with the Dermapen® DP4
  • Most appointments take 45–60 minutes

After Treatment

  • Mild swelling, redness, or bruising may occur and usually resolves in 24–48 hours
  • Avoid sun exposure, strenuous activity, and harsh skin products for 48 hours
  • Gently wash your face or scalp the next day, avoiding heat and exfoliants

Frequently asked questions

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) image
  • Is PRP the same as filler?

No. PRP works by stimulating your body’s own collagen and healing response. It does not add volume the way dermal fillers do, but is excellent for improving tone, texture, and fine lines.

  • Does it hurt?

Most clients find PRP treatments very tolerable. Numbing cream is applied to the skin, and a small needle is used for injections. Scalp injections may feel like mild pressure or pinching.

  • How many sessions will I need?

For optimal results, we typically recommend 3–6 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6–12 months.

  • Can I combine PRP with other treatments?

Yes! PRP pairs beautifully with microneedling, and can also complement dermal filler or laser treatments as part of a comprehensive rejuvenation plan.
